Retailers and Forecourts

Recently Tikspac launched a new product in the market to cater for consumer demand for compostable bags which are fully certified and made of corn starch. A lot of bags claim to bio-degradable, but most products are made of re-cycled plastics and can take 60 years to decompose where as ours can decompose in 6 months.

Bio-degradable vs Compostable

Biodegradable and compostable are words that are often used interchangeably but they really shouldn’t be. Biodegradable refers to any materials that break down in the environment – for example a plastic bag over time will disintegrate into smaller pieces but these can still be harmful to organisms and soils. Compostable items on the other hand are made of organic matter which micro-organisms decomposers are able to completely break down to form a nutrient rich soil or “compost”, such as food waste and plants.

Forecourts

Following COVID-19 and the requirement to sanitise surfaces to reduce the spread of spreading the virus Fuel nozzle are a place where customers can be wary.

Tikspac has produced a solution for compostable bags to be dispensed from a station forecourt. The bags can be used by customers on their hands to avoid touching the pump nozzle. This eliminates the requirement to sanitise pumps by hand and provides customers with confidence on reducing the chances of spreading the virus. The stations are self-service and dispense 1 bag at a time and can be attached to the forecourt columns for ease of access for customers. As the bags are compostable and made of corn starch there is no need to use throw away single use plastic like most other rubber and plastic gloves provided at present.

The stations are easy to refill and very robust and 4 stations will provide cover for most forecourts. The station holds 1200 bags making refilling easy to maintain for most operations and wholesale boxes can be ordered containing 2500 bags at a time. A typical forecourt with 4-6 pumps would require 2-6 stations conveniently located to provide enough visibility to customers. The stations contain standard messaging, but bespoke artwork can also be accommodated.

Trolley Park Stations

Following COVID-19 and the requirement to sanitise surfaces Tikspac has produced a solution for compostable bags to be dispensed from a station located at a trolley bay. The bags can be used by customers on their hands to avoid touching surfaces. This eliminates the requirement to sanitise trolleys by hand and have additional staff outside with messy cleaning chemicals and cloths. The stations are self-service and dispense 1 bag at a time and are single use throw away without contributing to single use plastic.

The stations hold 300 bags and can be opened and locked with a special key. The stations can be branded with your own messaging and can be secured to post and rail with fixings and come with a 2-year warranty. The bags come in a box of 2500 and each ream contains 100 bags making it easy to refill stations. The bags will bio-degrade in landfill in 6 months and are fully compostable and made of corn starch.
